'5 deaths, few answers': Domestic violence task force formed in San Mateo County

(KRON) -- San Mateo County formed a Domestic Violence Task Force following the homicides of five women this year at the hands of abusers, county supervisor Noelia Corzo announced Thursday.Five homicides this year in San Mateo County have been the result of domestic violence, according to law enforcement officials. The victims were all women between ages 27-49:Grace Marie Kelly, 49, Daly CityYesenia Lopez Hernandez, 41, Redwood CityClaribel Estrella, 41, San MateoMaria Romero-Molina, 30, South San FranciscoFrances Lucero, 27, Daly CityThe idea for a targeted task force arose during a September 18 special meeting of the San Mateo County Domestic Violence Council. Intimate partner violence is a crisis that demands our experts come together, identify the gaps, and take action now. (KRON) -- A power outage in the South Bay Thursday night affected more than 15,000 PG&E customers, according to PG&E's outage map. The outage is in the area of Campbell and Saratoga, west of San Jose. The outage began at around 7:15 p.m. Power is estimated to be restored at 11:15 p.m., PG&E said. REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KRON) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on eastbound Highway 92 involving one of its own officers. LONGMONT, Colo. (KDVR) - Officials issued a warning Thursday about the deadly drug fentanyl: Powdered forms of the substance are showing up on the streets in Boulder County.Health officials tell FOX31 fentanyl is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine. It is also laced into other narcotics being sold on the streets in Boulder County.On Sept. 16, first responders found evidence of powdered fentanyl while responding to a suspected overdose death.The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reports 920 deaths caused by fentanyl poisoning in Colorado in 2022.
